Dear DigiFish participants,
within the scope of Demonstrations of digital imaging techniques we offer you the
possibility to process your images by the software developed by Institute of Physical
Biology in Nove Hrady.
The software will be presented during the round table session.
There are two different software:
Entropy calculator
- functionality:
The software is generally designed for microscopy image enhancement. It
highlights the objects and their borders and suppresses the background in the
original image for improvement of visual analysis (automatic or manual).
- format of input images:
Any kind of image that contains background and objects where the objects
should be better visible.

Image with highlighted objects
Fishgui:
- functionality:
Application for evaluation of fish skin color parameters (hue and saturation). It is
possible to evaluate single image, however for better statistic (variance
consideration) is better to evaluated set of images of same fish species.
Application automatically locates the fish body on the image and from all its
pixels computes the output parameters via different color space transformations.
- format of input images:
Set of images of single fish body on uniform background taken under standard
(white balanced) and constant light conditions.
- output:
Average information of fish skin color (hue and saturation) as well as average
dominant wavelength (not available for pink colored fish).
